Too Late Came Yesterday
Digging heels in passing time
stop please slow down at least for a moment
reins callous the flesh between my fingers
time ticking a headstrong reality numbs
i want to be that little girl again
innocent youth come back to me
Where does it all go when reality shows?
i want to relive
lost sticky summer nights capturing fireflies
lost dances with autumns windswept leaves
lost snowball fights on blustery winter days
lost time spent in grandma's spring lilly garden
why does life have to be such a mystery?
such a complexity?
it comes, it goes, it stagnates, and it flows
what is the perimeter of a day?
or the perimeter of night?
life cannot be confined to symmetrical geometric structure
of this i am sure
my reality is locked in tears of yesterday
please unlock the door
tomorrow is almost here
